TANDARA FLAMING STAR

Passed away 14 Sept 07
My Tribute to flaming star – A very special horse.
From the time she was born she was a real character I used to give her water given in a 2 Litre ice cream container which she loved to throw over herself or she would chase you for the hose, this kept her occupied while I was washing her for shows . Another time while competing at a Dressage Comp in Wheabee in New South Wales, the disabled squad was having lunch but Dilly pinched an orange from our lunch box, and she stood there sucking it enjoying the juice.

At one comp We were right long aside an airport which was approx 400m away and a Heracles airplane landed, all the horses were packing themselves and pulling back from where they were tied up. Dilly (Tandara Flaming Star) stood and looked at all the others and thought they were crazy.

Flaming star competed all over Australia, from NSW to Queensland and most Dressage comps from Perth to Albany, across to Esperance and she was never unplaced under sixth place in Open Dressage Comps including able bodied Competitions.

This mare certainly had a mind of her own. Competing in many Palomino & Perth Royal Shows winning many supreme Champions and Performances Overall and taking out Grand Champion of the Shows.

I would like to thank the vets Gill and Tanya for all there help on trying to save her but unfortunately we have lost her. I should never forget this mare for what a character she was and I’m hoping it will follow on in her daughter’s footsteps.

May you rest at peace.
Love you always - Carol.
